Looking for sunnier pastures than Detroit, I came to Dallas in 1991 for a brief transitional stint at Parkland Hospital/UT Southwestern for Neurology training before heading to my destiny in California. Friends have asked, "Why North Texas?" I came for the waters but was misinformed. Abundant sunshine and the tejas (friendship) of Texans have been fair compensation for being landlocked for over 25 years. Indeed, one day I will make it to California. Alas, I still dream of a Detroit Lion Super Bowl victory!”
